On August 6th 2011, during Space Jam 5, Scouts got to talk live with Scoutmaster, Eagle Scout, and Astronaut Mike Fossum, on the International Space Station via a Telebridge with Ham Radio operators in Hawaii.

Over 1,000 Scouts and Scouters from 17 states came to this year's Space Jamboree, Space Jam 5.. At Space Jam 5 "Emergency Preparedness" was this year's theme. At 1:13 PM Central Time on Saturday, August 6th, 2011, a lucky few Scouts got to talk with Astronaut Scoutmaster Mike Fossum on the International Space Station. Crew 272 is pioneering the use of technology to help Scouts learn and earn new skills. WB9SA is our Ham Radio Sat/Com station call.
